THE PHYSICAL EDUCATION CURRICULUM THROUGH E-LEARNING AND B-LEARNING MODALITIES DURING CONFINEMENT: THE PHYSICAL EDUCATION CURRICULUM THROUGH E-LEARNING AND B-LEARNING MODALITIES DURING CONFINEMENT
Synopsis
The book The Physical Education Curriculum Through E-Learning and B-Learning Modalities During Confinement examines how the COVID-19 pandemic forced the transformation of physical education teaching in public institutions in Villavicencio. Its main purpose is to identify the curricular modifications, teaching resources, instructional strategies, and factors that influenced virtual and blended classes. Using a qualitative approach and an intrinsic case study design, the research draws on semi-structured interviews with teachers and students, documentary review of curricula, didactic sequences, and cross-curricular projects, as well as data triangulation. The theoretical framework addresses e-learning, b-learning, ICT, Web 2.0 platforms, teachers’ digital competence, and connectivity issues. The results show that teachers used guides, videos, WhatsApp, Meet, Zoom, Classroom, YouTube, email, and institutional platforms to sustain learning. They also reveal difficulties such as lack of internet access, devices, adequate spaces, materials, and technological training. In conclusion, the book argues that the crisis not only exposed shortcomings in the educational system, but also created opportunities to strengthen flexible curricula, technological infrastructure, and innovative pedagogical practices in physical education.
