CONTRIBUTIONS TO A THIRD CULTURE: SCIENTIFICATION OF POETIC REASON

The didactic proposal presented throughout this book allows the use of reading stories and novels in university training in the natural sciences, which in turn is part of a broader project for the creation of an interdisciplinary culture.
The proposal is developed as a critique of the rational paradigm of the formalist and structuralist tradition in the study of literature, thus recovering the reading of literary texts as part of a didactics of the sciences.
The authors call this synthesis of seemingly opposing disciplines the "science of poetic reason." It integrates the didactics of literature, the didactics of science, and university didactics, each of which receives specific attention throughout the book.
